Research-What films inspired ours?

During pre-production I researched a lot of Film Noir openings as part of my audience research. This meant I have now seen a lot of famous Film Noir openings which have definitely had an effect on our plot.
Iconic films that I would put into this category include:
Sunset Boulevard
&
Double Indemnity
&
Strangers on a Train
Obviously we made a list of common conventions such as mise-en-scene including props and setting from watching these openings. These were important to identify so that we could reach out to the target audience.
The inspiration for our main character was based on similar characters I had seen in other openings. A strong independent man, who works as a detective, and has a weakness for women and drink.
Trench coats are another common prop I have seen in Film Noirs an example is the main character in “The Killers” (1946), we chose to use this for our detective just an extra enhancement on his character.

New Actor Bio

We had some problems with actors getting to our set on the days we set to film therefore we made a snap decision to change the actors, fortunately this ended up working out well for us. Here are their bios.

RACHEL DUNN

Fitted our original portrayal of Carolina Corteaux well.

THOMAS HUGHES:

Tall, stocky, athletic build which fitted Julian’s character bio well.

Diary Entery

We have now begun the final editing stage. This will entail fixing the awful lighting and correcting the sound as well as added sound effects and background noise.
